Summer Cycling

If you’re feeling inspired by the amazing Olympians on TV and the international cyclists at the Aviva Women’s tour that recently raced through Northamptonshire and would like to improve your fitness and off-road cycling skills then the Kettering Cyclones have a lot of sporty fun planned for the summer holidays.

Love Cycling?

cycling use3Whether you’re very competitive and love to race or an absolute beginner who has just manged to pedal then Kettering Cyclones Youth Cycling Club has something for you!

We have an action packed timetable just posted up on our club calendar with something for everyone. All our events are delivered by British Cycling qualified coaches on traffic free sites.  We are a quality assured Sports Mark club affiliated to the British Cycling Go-Ride Scheme.

Our training nights are on Monday from 7.00-8.00pm (delivered under floodlights in the winter) and alternate weekly between Kettering Buccleuch Academy and Rothwell Recreational Ground throughout the whole year.

Cycling Fun With The Cyclones

cyclonesuseThank you to all supporting an action packed day of off-road cycling on our doorstep, at the John Lowther Scout Centre on Glendon Road, Kettering which proved to be a very enjoyable event at the weekend.  A fantastic wooded venue for the young cyclists to practise their skills with regional cycling coach, Catherine Ruffley, and a larger challenging field for racing for the competitive.  More than 350 cyclists of all ages turned up from all over the region to support this Round 14 of the British Cycling Cyclo Cross league event.

The Cyclones welcome all riders from 7 to 17 years to their FREE weekly training, from beginners to confident riders, we have a growing number of coaches to cater for all abilities. The Cyclones Reach Desborough

The Cyclone’s first major competition held yesterday at Desborough Leisure Centre resulted in more than 300 riders of all age groups from all over the Central Region taking part.

The Cyclone’s training sessions are open for children from 6 years upwards and are completely free of charge.  They are run by a growing number of British Cycling coaches and places are still available.  They will continue to take part under flood lights at Buccleuch Academy and Rothwell Community Centre on a Monday night throughout the winter.  For more details see the club calendar on

The Cyclone’s Regional Cyclo-Cross Race

It’s not too late to join in with the Cyclone’s first Regional competition for round 8 Central CX league on Saturday 14th November at Desborough Leisure Centre, Ironwood Avenue, Desborough, Kettering, Northamptonshire NN14 2JJ.

The new site offers varied interesting terrain including cambers, mud, woodland trails and singletrack as well as fast flat grass sections. Cyclists will be offered some Go-ride coaching after racing utilising a superb BMX track!

The facility is brand new with excellent changing and toilets. There will be food and drink available from ANS catering.

The Kettering Cyclone Youth Cyclones are still going strong despite the darker nights thanks to our new portable floodlights!  31 enthusiastic riders of all ages joined the atmospheric training session on Monday night at Kettering Buccleuch Academy, 7.00-8.00 pm.  Our next session is at Rothwell Recreation Ground at 7.00-8.00pm.
