Discovering The Digital World With BBC Micro:bits

Mr Cutting celebrated our school Science week in true tech style when he opened a large box full of BBC micro:bits and delivered a hands-on introductory lesson to KS2 children.

Children were taught that the micro:bit is a handheld, fully programmable computer that can be used for all sorts of amazing creations, from robots to musical instruments, the applications are limited only by your imagination!

Children enjoyed learning how to access the BBC micro:bit website to access pre-written downloadable files.  They enjoyed using one that programmed their micro:bit red LED lights to spell flashing messages!

It was fascinating to learn that the BBC micro:bit can detect motion and can even be used as a compass to tell you which direction you’re heading in!
